Today’s Traces is a meditation on memory, impermanence, and emotional residue. An ambient journey shaped in the quiet spaces between life’s bigger moments. 

Written and recorded during late nights and early mornings in the months before the birth of my second child, this album captures fleeting moments in sonic form. Life is full of ups and downs, from the amazing moments witnessing your child’s milestones to navigating life’s uncertainties, and yet it all seems to become one warped sense of recollection as the days, weeks, and years go by. This meditative collection of tracks is meant to help catalogue and simply sit with those moments. Warm synths drift in and out of focus. Arpeggios dissolve into haze. Textures warp like fading memories.

Over the years, my music has transformed and been shaped by necessity. With YouTube music education content becoming my primary artistic endeavor, I’ve been focusing more on the beatmaking side of my work. I almost didn’t release this album. As a beatmaker known for sample-based rhythms and groove-heavy live sets, this was a deliberate departure: an exploration of stillness, disconnection, and the beauty of things left unresolved. In the age of algorithms, shifts like this are often seen as a negative. But these eight tracks form an abstract journal: sometimes melancholic, sometimes serene, but always present. Ultimately, I decided this is who and what my musical expression is at this exact moment. It’s a sonic archive of interesting times, existing for those wanting to sit in what remains after the moment has passed.
